Volunteers
We couldn’t offer some of the services we do without the enormous energy and generosity donated on a regular basis by our dedicated volunteers.

- Driving our cars & buses to pick people up for outings, appointments or to attend a program.
- Providing company, a friendly smile and helping hand to participants in our groups or on outings
- Providing support, compassion & care for people who are in our palliative care program.
- Assisting with administration tasks and undertaking projects.
- Sales assistance in the Op Shop
- Extra hands in the kitchen or for catering
- Mulching & general garden maintenance
- Working with self help groups supported by BCCHS
If your skill is not listed, tell us what you can offer! It may be something we haven’t even considered yet. Perhaps you are now retired and looking to do something in your spare time a few hours a week or month. There are varying roles that require your support, so please don’t be shy, come and join us and discover just how rewarding it can be to know you are making a difference to someone’s life.

Planned Activity Group helpers
We need volunteers to support our planned activity groups which are held on a weekly basis for, mainly, elderly members of our community. Volunteers help by preparing and serving meals and generally helping out with the program activities.
Help with our mail run!
If you like driving around the local area this could be the volunteer job for you. We need help to get our mail around our three sites, Wonthaggi, Cowes and San Remo, in the afternoons. We will provide the car. This role will be shared by a number of volunteers so any availability would be considered.

Op Shop
Op Shop Assistants needed
We have two Op Shops – one at San Remo and one at Grantville. Our Op Shops are run by community volunteers for the community. The Op Shop income supports BCCHS to provide a range of services as well as equipment purchases for programs. Assist sort, price, display and sell at our Op Shops. Raise funds to support BCCHS. You can volunteer for as much or as little as you like. Some volunteer one day a week, others one day a month.
Walking group leaders
BCCHS works to encourage people in the community to improve their general health. We need volunteers to train as walking group leaders to arrange, encourage and accompany groups on walks in our local area. Ideal volunteer opportunity for a keen walker or couple! Flexible hours.
