Bequests

We value that people appreciate the service we give to our community.

BCCHS would like to acknowledge the 1995 bequest from the estate of Ms Dorothy Burnap of $150,000. The interest income of this bequest has assisted BCCHS in improving health service delivery over the past 14 years.

Making a Will is an important thing to do. It gives you the opportunity to safeguard what is important to you and how you want your assets to be managed.
A bequest is a significant way of financially supporting the work of BCCHS. We encourage you to consider BCCHS in contributing to capital development in your WILL.

BCCHS needs your gift to support our Capital Development Program. Our Board of Directors (who volunteer their time) & staff are committed to:

  • Expanding & building new facilities in Cowes (Phillip Island) to provide additional Integrated Health Care services for the Phillip Island Community.
  • Expanding our San Remo site to accommodate improved Integrated Health Services and outreach delivery for our San Remo & Waterlines & District Community members
  • Maintaining existing health care services and expanding collaborative partnerships with other health services within the Wonthaggi and district communities.
  • Expanding the capacity to continue ongoing support, facilities and resources to workforce development within the health sector in the Bass Coast Shire & encourage student placement opportunities to improve the existing capacity of health professionals in our region.

As BCCHS is a charitable, not for profit organisation with Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) status, we know many people appreciate the care we provide but do not have the means whilst they are alive to financially support us. Provision in your Will provides the opportunity for your appreciation to be expressed.

There are many reasons why you should make a Will. A Will provides the opportunity for you to express your wishes of how your estate is to be distributed. It ensures your loved ones are provided for. It also enables you to support the work of BCCHS through a bequest. We suggest if a gift of this nature is being considered, that you consult your legal advisor.

For your gift to BCCHS we recommend the following wording for your legal adviser’s consideration:

“I GIVE, FREE OF ALL DUTIES AND TAXES
The whole of my estate, or ______% of my estate, or the residue of my estate (or ____% of the residue of my estate), or the sum of $______________, or my unit/shares in _____________Trust/Ltd, or my real property situated at [insert street address] having the title reference __________,
to Bass Coast Community Health Service, ABN 69 207 761 231
The receipt of the treasurer, secretary or public officer for the time being of is an absolute discharge to my executor”

If you wish to discuss leaving a gift to BCCHS through your WILL, please contact the Chief Executive Officer on 5671 9200. All enquiries are treated with the strictest confidence.
